Organizations associated with the TRACE project will meet with leading experts on anti-Semitism and anti-Gypsyism at the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum on June 10-11, 2026. The aim of the meeting is to strengthen cooperation, share experiences, and a joint response to these challenges in Central Europe.

The conference will take place at the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum and at the ARCHER – Auschwitz Research Center on Hate, Extremism, and Radicalization. The center itself is located in House 88, the former villa of Auschwitz concentration camp commandant Rudolf Höss, which the Counter Extremism Project has transformed into an international center for research and education on extremism. ARCHER combines academic research, educational activities, public debate and the arts and focuses on understanding the processes that lead to the normalization of extremist attitudes in society.

CEP Researcher Joshua Fisher-Birch quoted: "'They've received interest from other groups outside of the specific accelerationist neo-Nazi community,' said Fisher-Birch. 'So this has been reposted by others who otherwise might have some sort of argument with the accelerationist community. In this case, this is something that it's just something that has its own momentum with at least the broader extreme right because they can get behind this.'"

"'This action by several neo-Nazis was a stunt designed to get maximum exposure. An affiliated communications channel has been gloating over the event and mocking individuals who made social media posts condemning them,' Joshua Fisher-Birch, an analyst for the Counter Extremism Project, told VICE. 'At least one individual who was present has protested drag events and has a long history of in real life trolling in order to spread his antisemitic message and get media attention.'"

"'Palestine has become a cause du jour among many grassroots social justice groups, which has led to an infusion of antisemitism by those promoting anti-Israel narratives,' Josh Lipowsky, senior research analyst for the Counter Extremism Project, said to the DCNF. 'We’ve witnesse[d] a rising number of antisemites hijack social justice causes and spread anti-Jewish discrimination.'"
