CEP Advisory Board Member Dr. August Hanning quoted: "'It was clear to all experts that [the withdrawal] meant the great danger of the Taliban taking power in Afghanistan,' Dr. August Hanning, former German state secretary of the Federal Interior Ministry and director of Federal Intelligence Services, explained. 'But the prevailing mood in Germany was that government, Parliament and public were tired about the mission and the poor results of the mission in Afghanistan. Therefore, this announcement was also associated with a feeling of relief.'"
CEP Senior Advisor Dr. Hany Farid quoted: "Hany Farid, professor in digital forensics at the University of California, Berkeley, said of the fake Zelensky video: 'The next time the president goes on television, some people might think, ‘Wait a minute – is this real?’ I suspect it’s the tip of the iceberg.'"
"The Union of Good is an umbrella fundraising organization of charities and was designated as a terrorist organization by the US Treasury, in 2008. This is because it is an organization created by Hamas leadership to transfer funds to the terrorist organization. As noted by the Counter Extremism Project, the Union of Good includes the Qatar Charity and the Eid Charity."

Fighters from Eastern Europe and former Soviet republics still seem to constitute the bulk of arrivals, with Poland, Georgia, Belarus, Latvia, Lithuania and Romania among the most frequently mentioned in open sources as countries of origin."
CEP Senior Director Dr. Hans-Jakob Shindler interviewed: "Al-Shabaab is, if not the largest, one of the largest al-Qaeda affiliates around the globe, only rivaled by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham in Syria. And in difference to in Hayat Tahrir al-Sham in Syria, al-Shabaab actually runs large parts of Somalia, around 30% I think experts conclude."

"Joshua Fisher-Birch, an expert and analyst on the far-right at the Counter-Extremism Project, said some extremists may see the conflict as a chance to become battle hardened and gain military skills.
'Some right-wing extremists have viewed the war in Ukraine as an opportunity to gain critical combat experience which would otherwise be unavailable to them,' said Fisher-Birch, pointing out that war experience can also help boost their cachet within the movement at home. 'Combat experience not only serves the purpose of increasing their own capabilities but passing those skill sets along to others in their movement.'"
CEP Researcher Joshua Fisher-Birch interviewed on podcast: "The myth of stolen elections has the potential to be used in the future to sow discord and distrust, promote violence, and delegitimize future elections. Denying the results of an election when they are unfavorable to you goes against democratic principles and can empower right-wing extremist groups and future authoritarians."

Learning about the white supremacist movements and then also learning about what people have done in the past to expose them, to create resilient communities, it's very important to do that as well, and to see how people have fought back against it."
CEP Senior Advisor Ian Acheson writes: "The attempted murder of Salman Rushdie is not shocking. That’s the shocking thing about it. In due course we will see whether, as is alleged, his assailant was acting in conjunction with the Iranian Islamist impulse to attack the apostate – a widening net, knit faster by our own secular fanatics, which drags in and dehumanises anyone who dissents from a fundamentalist worldview."
