Dr Hans-Jacob Schindler, senior director of the Counter Extremism Project, emphasised that HAYI was unlikely to be a new terror group. Referring to their claims of attacks across Europe, Dr Schindler said: “Whether the perpetrators are connected, or whether it’s a framework the IRGC is giving them, is up for discussion.

“The threat level regarding terrorist attacks in the USA and Europe has increased due to the conflict with the Islamist regime in Iran,” Counter Extremism Project Senior Director Hans-Jakob Schindler tells the Sun. “Currently, however, it’s an abstract threat, meaning that it is likely the regime will attempt to carry out attacks in the USA and Europe as part of its hybrid warfare strategy, but no warnings about concrete attacks have been received until now.”

Iran's head of state and religious leader, Ali Khamenei, was killed in targeted attacks, as were other high-ranking members of the government. This was made possible by informants in Iran who provided intelligence agencies with information about the routines and whereabouts of the leadership, says intelligence and security expert [CEP Senior Director] Hans-Jakob Schindler.
