On September 22, 2018, gunmen opened fire during an Iranian military parade in Ahvaz, Iran, killing at least 25 people and wounding 70 others. ISIS claimed responsibility and posted video of the attackers.

On September 19, 2016, Boko Haram insurgents launched three attacks on Tallari in Nigeria's Borno State. Militants beheaded the village chief and his son, ambushed a military convoy, and gunned down eight Christians.

During the Second Intifada beginning in September 2000 and ending in March 2004, Hamas carried out 425 attacks, including 52 suicide bombings. Hamas's terrorist activities left 377 people dead and 2,076 civilians and soldiers wounded.

On September 16, 2016, a suicide bombing killed at least 30 worshippers and injured 28 others in one of the biggest mosques in a district of Pakistan's Federally Administered Tribal Areas. Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, a faction of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, claimed responsibility ofr the attack.

On September 14, 2017, ISIS fighters staged two coordinated attacks in Nasiriyah, in southern Dhair Qar Governorate of Iraq. The twin attacks killed 84 people and injured at least 94 others.

Curated with world renowned composer, conductor, and musicologist Francesco Lotoro, the program restores classical, folk, and popular works, many written on scraps of paper or recalled from memory, to public consciousness. Featuring world and U.S. premieres from Lotoro's archive, this concert honors a repertoire that endured against unimaginable evil.
