On February 8, 2020, an assailant dressed in an Afghan army uniform opened fire on a U.S.-Afghan joint operation, killing one Afghan soldier and two American soldiers, and wounding six others. No group claimed responsibility, though U.S. and Afghan forces were fighting both the Taliban and ISIS in the area, Nangarhar province.

On February 4, 2019, a car bombing at a shopping mall in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, killed 11 people and injured 10 others. Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack.

On February 2, 2020, Sudesh Amman, a convicted terrorist offender out on early-release, stabbed and injured three people in Streatham, London. Amman was wearing a fake suicide vest and was shot dead by police. ISIS claimed the attack the following day.
