On March 25, 2017, as Bangladesh Armed Forces raided a militant hideout in South Surma Upazila, Bangladesh, militants detonated two bombs in a crowd of 500-600 onlookers. The attack, claimed by ISIS, killed four civilians and three police officers, and injured 50 others.

On March 23, 2018, gunman Redouane Lakdim hijacked a car in Carcassone, France, killing a passenger and wounding the driver. Lakdim then drove to the nearby town of Trebes and took several people hostage at a supermarket, where he was killed by police. The attack left four people dead and three injured. ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack.

On March 19, 2020, unidentified assailants launched a rocket attack in Idlib, Syria, killing two Turkish soldiers. Turkey’s Defense Ministry claimed the attack was carried out by “radical groups.”

On March 17, 2019, gunmen raided and briefly seized a miliary base overnight in Mali’s Mopti region, killing at least 23 soldiers. Malian officials blamed jihadist militants linked to a Tuareg militia and al-Qaeda. Jamaat Nusrat al-Islam wal Muslimeen (JNIM) claimed responsibility.

On March 14, 2022, militant fighters attacked and killed eight people collecting water in Arbinda in Burkina Faso’s Soum province. In the same province, armed men attacked a water drilling site, shooting dead three civilians and four Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP).
