Armed men carried out an overnight attack between June 11 and June 12, 2022, killing at least 100 civilians in the Seytenga district of northern Burkina Faso. No group claimed responsibility, though Jamaat Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen (JNIM) was suspected. 

On June 8, 2017, a U.N. base in Kidal, Mali came under heavy mortar fire. A total of six U.N. peacekeepers from Guinea were killed and five others were wounded. An al-Qaeda affiliate group claimed responsibility for the attack. 

On June 6, 2021, the Taliban attacked a complex in Ghor province, killing nine and injuring seven. That same day, the Taliban launched similar attacks on the police headquarters in Faryab province, killing 28 security forces, and in Balkh province, killing 19 and injuring 69 others.   

On June 4 and 5, 2021, heavily armed militants launched an assault on the village of Solhan in Burkina Faso, killing at least 132 civilians and forcing more than 7,000 people to flee. A government spokesperson later said the assailants were mostly children between the ages of 12 and 14. Al-Qaeda-affiliated Jamaat Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen (JNIM) was suspected of involvement in the attack. 

On June 2, 2019, ISIS detonated three improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in northern Syria, one in Azaz and two in Raqqa. The attacks killed 30 people, including five children, and wounded dozens of others.
