Fact:
On October 19, 2019, unnamed terrorists launched nearly simultaneous attacks on military units in Bahn in Loroum province and Yense in Yatenga province, Burkina Faso. The attacks left five soldiers and one police officer dead.

On October 14, 2017, suspected al-Shabaab militants detonated a truck bomb in a busy area of the city center of Mogadishu. Shortly after the first blast, a second truck bomb detonated nearby. The attacks killed at least 500 people and wounded at least 300 others.

On October 11, 2019, suspected extremists launched an attack on the grand mosque in the northern village of Salmossi, Burkina Faso. The attack took place during evening prayers, killing at least 16 worshipers.

October 6, 2016, approximately 20 assailants attacked a residential building that housed mainly non-ethnic Somalis and non-Muslims in Mandera, Kenya, less than a kilometer from the Somali border. The attack left six people dead and injured 25 others. Authorities suspected al-Shabaab.
