Counter Extremism Project Condemns ISIS Murder of Egyptian Coptic Christians in Libya

The following is a statement from the Counter Extremism Project:

“The Counter Extremism Project condemns the kidnapping and brutal mass murder of innocent Egyptian Coptic Christians in Libya by militants loyal to ISIS.  According to a posted video confirmed as authentic by Egyptian authorities, the group of men, Egyptian workers in Libya who had been kidnapped weeks before, were simultaneously beheaded – because they were Christians.  This vicious and cowardly act is yet another example of the cruelty and inhumanity that is the foundation of ISIS and its adherents and why extremism must be confronted and defeated. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends of the victims.   We stand with the Egyptian people during this period of mourning announced by the Egyptian government.  The Counter Extremism Project further calls for support of the Egyptian military’s action against ISIS by the 60-nation coalition led by the United States.”

In Their Own Words:

We reiterate once again that the brigades will directly target US bases across the region in case the US enemy commits a folly and decides to strike our resistance fighters and their camps [in Iraq].
