Wall Street Journal: Trump Blames Iran After Protesters Try to Storm U.S. Embassy in Baghdad
"Supporters of an Iran-backed militia tried to storm the American embassy compound in the Iraqi capital, driving the U.S. to send military reinforcements and pointing to the fraught challenge for Washington in maintaining forces in Iraq. Some pitched tents opposite the embassy and held prayers. The words 'Closed by order of the people' were scrawled on one of the blast walls surrounding the compound. Abu Mahdi al-Mohandes, the deputy head of the PMF who policy organizations such as the Counter Extremism Project regard as a leader of Kataib Hezbollah, was in attendance as well as prominent paramilitary leaders-turned-politicians Qais al-Khazaali and Hadi al-Ameri."
The Counter Extremism Project Presents
Enduring Music: Compositions from the Holocaust
Marking International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the Counter Extremism Project's ARCHER at House 88 presents a landmark concert of music composed in ghettos and death camps, performed in defiance of resurgent antisemitism. Curated with world renowned composer, conductor, and musicologist Francesco Lotoro, the program restores classical, folk, and popular works, many written on scraps of paper or recalled from memory, to public consciousness. Featuring world and U.S. premieres from Lotoro's archive, this concert honors a repertoire that endured against unimaginable evil.
