Tagesspiegel: After one year with NetzDG: The Green party and think tanks demand improvements (Germany)
This article in the Germany's Tagesspiegel, describes efforts to improve Germany's Network Enforcement Act (NetzDG), which came into force about one year ago. "A recently published report by the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS) and the Counter Extremism Project takes stock after a year. So far, the law has neither managed to tackle hate speech and extremism on social media platforms, nor led to over-blocking. Since NetzDG is a key test of the EU’s efforts against online extremism and other illegal content, the authors of the report offer some recommendations for action."
The Counter Extremism Project Presents
Enduring Music: Compositions from the Holocaust
Marking International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the Counter Extremism Project's ARCHER at House 88 presents a landmark concert of music composed in ghettos and death camps, performed in defiance of resurgent antisemitism. Curated with world renowned composer, conductor, and musicologist Francesco Lotoro, the program restores classical, folk, and popular works, many written on scraps of paper or recalled from memory, to public consciousness. Featuring world and U.S. premieres from Lotoro's archive, this concert honors a repertoire that endured against unimaginable evil.
