Politico Pro: Technology: “Anti-Terrorism Campaign Targets Google
"The Counter Extremism Project plans to take aim at Google and YouTube this week, arguing that the companies are not doing enough to crack down on content that promotes terrorism. The group takes issue with videos showing lectures from Anwar al-Awlaki , a Muslim cleric who was killed in a drone strike six years ago. Google and other tech companies have made efforts in recent years to filter out content that promotes extremist views, using a mix of human moderators and artificial intelligence software. The Counter Extremism Project's board includes former Sen. Joe Lieberman, former NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly and Dennis Ross, a national security and Middle East adviser under Presidents George H. W. Bush, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.”
The Counter Extremism Project Presents
Enduring Music: Compositions from the Holocaust
Marking International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the Counter Extremism Project's ARCHER at House 88 presents a landmark concert of music composed in ghettos and death camps, performed in defiance of resurgent antisemitism. Curated with world renowned composer, conductor, and musicologist Francesco Lotoro, the program restores classical, folk, and popular works, many written on scraps of paper or recalled from memory, to public consciousness. Featuring world and U.S. premieres from Lotoro's archive, this concert honors a repertoire that endured against unimaginable evil.
