The Parliament: In conversation with... Lucinda Creighton
"The Counter Extremism Project (CEP) works to combat extremist ideologies, including tackling terrorist content online and has actively followed the discussions on the proposed Terror Content Online regulation, says Senior Advisor, Lucinda Creighton. Technology companies pledged to be more effective in removing extremist content when they were threatened with fines and regulation. However, we have yet to see this translate into measurable, systematic and transparent actions which will see this content permanently removed. If technology companies want to be seen as part of the solution and as normal reputable businesses, they must acknowledge their role and make dramatic efforts to stop their platforms being used by extremists to recruit individuals and spread harmful content."
The Counter Extremism Project Presents
Enduring Music: Compositions from the Holocaust
Marking International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the Counter Extremism Project's ARCHER at House 88 presents a landmark concert of music composed in ghettos and death camps, performed in defiance of resurgent antisemitism. Curated with world renowned composer, conductor, and musicologist Francesco Lotoro, the program restores classical, folk, and popular works, many written on scraps of paper or recalled from memory, to public consciousness. Featuring world and U.S. premieres from Lotoro's archive, this concert honors a repertoire that endured against unimaginable evil.
