Pan European Networks: The Counter-Extremism Agenda
As governments and societies around the world grapple with the increasing threat posed by extremism, it is increasingly evident that counter-extremism efforts require the engagement of a multitude of actors across society. Working to help tackle radicalisation and extremism is the international policy organisation the Counter Extremism Project (CEP). Launched in October 2014 at their first office in New York, USA, the CEP today has offices in London, UK, and Brussels, Belgium. Meeting with PEN, the head of CEP Brussels, Roberta Bonazzi, outlined the key activities of the project and the outlook for counter-extremism efforts.
The Counter Extremism Project Presents
Enduring Music: Compositions from the Holocaust
Marking International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the Counter Extremism Project's ARCHER at House 88 presents a landmark concert of music composed in ghettos and death camps, performed in defiance of resurgent antisemitism. Curated with world renowned composer, conductor, and musicologist Francesco Lotoro, the program restores classical, folk, and popular works, many written on scraps of paper or recalled from memory, to public consciousness. Featuring world and U.S. premieres from Lotoro's archive, this concert honors a repertoire that endured against unimaginable evil.
