A new group aims to hit the brutal Islamic State fanatics where it hurts — the pocketbook.

It’s called the Counter Extremism Project the goal is to cut the flow of money to the murderous militants by unmasking the companies and private donors that have been funding them or selling oil from the parts of Iraq and Syria they now control.

On April 3, 2017, the day Vladimir Putin was due to visit the city, a suicide bombing was carried out in the St. Petersburg metro, killing 15 people and injuring 64. An al-Qaeda affiliate, Imam Shamil Battalion, claimed responsibility.
