CBS News: Facebook Challenged to Rein In Extremism
CEP Senior Advisor Dr. Hany Farid discusses the need for Facebook and other tech companies to do more to combat dangerous extremist content online. In a February 5 letter, CEP invited Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg to join top CEP advisors for a public conversation about the threat posed by extremist content that proliferates on Facebook. The invitation followed Zuckerberg’s public commitment to hosting a series of “public discussions about the future of technology in society.”
