Catholic Online: ISIS posting up to 100,000 tweets per day, governments falling behind in cyber war

Sometimes all it takes - is one sympathetic ear or voice in a massive sea of indifference to turn a law-abiding citizen into an agent of terror and mass destruction. Islamic State or ISIS continues to post 100,000 tweets daily in order to recruit disenfranchised men and women living in the west to fight wars in the Middle East. Now - an organization has been formed to deal with this deadly cyber threat. Called the "Counter Extremism Project Europe," or CEP Europe, the group is a partnership between like-minded organizations in the U.S. and Europe.

On April 3, 2017, the day Vladimir Putin was due to visit the city, a suicide bombing was carried out in the St. Petersburg metro, killing 15 people and injuring 64. An al-Qaeda affiliate, Imam Shamil Battalion, claimed responsibility.
