Brussels Times: International community urged to do more to tackle the ideology of Islamic extremism
Islamic extremism and the ideology that drives it is corrosive to the fabric of democracy and threatens to "spread through the generations" unless effective and urgent preventive measures are taken. That was one of the key messages to emerge from a high-profile briefing in Brussels on radicalisation. The briefing was organised by the European Foundation for Democracy in cooperation with the Institute of Peace and the support of the Counter Extremism Project and the U.S Mission to the EU.
The Counter Extremism Project Presents
Enduring Music: Compositions from the Holocaust
Marking International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the Counter Extremism Project's ARCHER at House 88 presents a landmark concert of music composed in ghettos and death camps, performed in defiance of resurgent antisemitism. Curated with world renowned composer, conductor, and musicologist Francesco Lotoro, the program restores classical, folk, and popular works, many written on scraps of paper or recalled from memory, to public consciousness. Featuring world and U.S. premieres from Lotoro's archive, this concert honors a repertoire that endured against unimaginable evil.
