BR24: Social Media: How IS Radicalizes Youth
Body
“... One person who analyses this propaganda is Hans-Jakob Schindler, senior director of the international non-profit organisation Counter Extremism Project. IS is planning for the long term, for example by threatening an attack on the Oktoberfest, says Schindler. The terrorists want to stir up fear and show strength in order to gain followers. IS is hoping for widespread dissemination through various media. According to Schindler, IS is very professional when it comes to spreading propaganda. The entire range of social networks popular with young people is used - in addition to "TikTok", also "Telegram" and the communication platform "Rocket.Chat".”

Marking International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the Counter Extremism Project's ARCHER at House 88 presents a landmark concert of music composed in ghettos and death camps, performed in defiance of resurgent antisemitism. Curated with world renowned composer, conductor, and musicologist Francesco Lotoro, the program restores classical, folk, and popular works, many written on scraps of paper or recalled from memory, to public consciousness. Featuring world and U.S. premieres from Lotoro's archive, this concert honors a repertoire that endured against unimaginable evil.
