Boston Herald: Booting Up: Twitter must finally clear out terrorists
It’s time for Twitter to step up. The micro-blogging site has refused to stamp out the considerable presence of terrorists on its network. Whereas Facebook is open to discussions of counterterrorism measures, Twitter’s response has been different. “The response we’ve gotten from Twitter is dismissive to the point of dereliction,” said Mark D. Wallace, CEO of the nonprofit think tank Counter Extremism Project, in recent testimony before Congress. “We have written three letters describing the problem and requesting a sit-down between Twitter and CEP leadership. Twitter has ignored all but one letter, and its reply, simply put, was indifferent at best.”
The Counter Extremism Project Presents
Enduring Music: Compositions from the Holocaust
Marking International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the Counter Extremism Project's ARCHER at House 88 presents a landmark concert of music composed in ghettos and death camps, performed in defiance of resurgent antisemitism. Curated with world renowned composer, conductor, and musicologist Francesco Lotoro, the program restores classical, folk, and popular works, many written on scraps of paper or recalled from memory, to public consciousness. Featuring world and U.S. premieres from Lotoro's archive, this concert honors a repertoire that endured against unimaginable evil.
