Gage later enrolled in the Center for Positive Change and Hypnosis in New York, where he became licensed in neuro-linguistic programming (NLP). It is unclear when Gage joined the National Youth Front (NYF), the youth wing of the white nationalist American Freedom Party (AFP). NYF recruits young adults between the ages of 18 to 35 into white nationalism and prolongs commitment to the movement by granting automatic membership into the AFP once a member turns 35.“Group Formerly Known as the National Youth Front in Disarray,” Southern Poverty Law Center, October 15, 2015, https://www.splcenter.org/hatewatch/2015/10/15/group-formerly-known-national-youth-front-disarray.

On Twitter, now known as X, Gage was known to spew racist and anti-Semitic views and conspiracy theories, resulting in the banning of his account in January 2021.Charles R. As of the end of 2023, Gage’s content remains inflammatory and conspiratorial, as was seen when he published quotes from Hitler’s Mein Kampf following Hamas’s October 7 attack on Israel and claimed that Israel does not deserve sympathy as the country reportedly helped coordinate the 9/11 attacks.“Hamas Attack Draws Cheers from Extremists, Spurs Antisemitism and Conspiracies Online,” Anti-Defamation League, October 7, 2023, https://www.adl.org/resources/blog/hamas-attack-draws-cheers-extremists-spurs-antisemitism-and-conspiracies-online; Miles Klee, “Verified Hate Speech Accounts Are Pivoting to Palestine for Clout and Cash,” Rolling Stone, November 1, 2023, https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-features/twitter-hate-speech-accounts-palestine-clout-1234867382/. Gage has also claimed he has received monetary compensation from X for high engagement on his posts. In August 2023, he shared a screenshot of what he said was a $165 payment from X for user engagement. The payment came after Gage posted a series of messages about Leo Frank, the Jewish man lynched by an antisemitic mob in the United States in 1915 after being wrongly imprisoned for the death of a young girl.Philissa Cramer, “X briefly allows anti-Leo Frank ‘community note’ as antisemitic content spikes,” Times of Israel, August 22, 2023, https://www.timesofisrael.com/x-briefly-allows-anti-leo-frank-community-note-as-antisemitic-content-spikes/.

After Gage was initially locked out of his X account on December 18, a hashtag to “#FreeLucasGage” emerged on X.
