Kevin Alfred Strom

Kevin Alfred Strom is a U.S.-based white nationalist and former leader of the white nationalist group National Vanguard. Strom’s radicalization began while he was a high school student in Alaska. With the support of his history teacher who reportedly espoused far-right sentiments, Strom began associating with members of NA. Strom was an eager recruit who adopted the most extreme ideologies endorsed by Pierce, including white supremacy, racism, and antisemitism. Strom’s first altercation with the authorities occurred in 1987 in Washington, D.C., where he was arrested outside of the South African embassy during a pro-apartheid demonstration. During the altercation, Strom attacked a police officer and was also found with detailed sketches of a location hosting anti-apartheid activist Nelson Mandela. However, after Pierce’s unexpected death in 2002, Strom was not named Pierce’s successor and instead was faced with waning authority in the group. In 2005, Strom left NA and founded the National Vanguard. In spite of Strom’s controversial reputation, he returned to the NA in 2014 to help revitalize it with NA veteran Will White Williams. As of October 2024, Strom is an active contributor to the National Vanguard website, where he hosts and edits segments on the radio program American Dissident Voices.
