On April 7, 2020, armed Islamists killed 52 people in Xitaxi, a village in Mozambique's restive Cabo Delgado province, after the villagers refused to join the militants' ranks. 

On October 18, 2019, two bombs exploded in a mosque in the Haska Meyna District of Afghanistan's Nangarhar province. The attack occurred during Friday prayer, leaving 73 worshippers dead and dozens more injured. 

On October 13, 2018, al-Shabaab carried out two bombings in the town of Baidoa, a financial hub located between Mogadishu and the Ethiopian border. The first blast targeted a restaurant and another explosion hit a nearby hotel, killing 20 people and wounding dozens more.

On October 12, 2012, four Golden Dawn members attacked a 21-year-old Egyptian man on the streets of Athens. The assailants used chains, bats, and dogs to severely injure the victim, leaving him blind. 

On October 9, 2019, far-right extremist Stephan Balliet attacked a synagogue during the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur and a kebab restaurant in Halle, Germany. Two people were killed and two were injured. The suspect streamed the attack on gaming platform Twitch for 35 minutes.
