On August 3, 2021, a suicide car bomber and gunmen targeted the Kabul home of Afghanistan’s acting defense minister Bismillah Khan Mohammadi. Although Mohammadi was not at home at the time of the attack, the explosion killed eight and wounded 20 others. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.

On July 31, 2021, a man from a Sunni tribe in the town of Khaldeh, Lebanon, opened fire at a wedding party, killing Hezbollah fighter Ali Chebli. The attack on the wedding party was reportedly revenge for Chebli allegedly killing a 15-year-old relative of the shooter.

On June 26, 2022, Taliban fighters carried out a night raid, allegedly in search of a former security official, on a home in Ghor province. At least six Hazara people were killed. The attack was part of a pattern of targeted killings of minority groups and those associated with the former Afghan government.
