On February 12, 2019, gunmen opened fire on a police vehicle in the Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, killing four officers. The Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) splinter group Hizbul Ahrar claimed responsibility.

On February 8, 2017, gunmen killed six Afghan International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) workers in Jowzjan province. Authorities suspected ISIS was responsible and the Taliban denied responsibility. In response, the ICRC temporarily suspended its work in Afghanistan.

On February 4, 2020, the People’s Protection Units (YPG) militants launched a missile attack in Afrin, northwestern Syria. The missiles targeted two schools and a mosque, killing one and wounding seven others.
