During ISIS’s genocidal campaign against Iraq’s Yazidi minority that began in August 2014, the terror group systematically destroyed farmland, looted livestock and machinery, and laid landmines – ensuring the agrarian population could never return to their homeland.

On February 25, 2017, 32 people were killed, including the Syrian army’s intelligence chief, and many were injured in an attack near Syrian military and intelligence facilities in Homs. The coordinated attack involved suicide bombers from terrorist group Ha’yat Tahrir al-Sham.

On February 21, 2016, ISIS carried out a series of bombings near Sayyidah Zaynab Mosque, a Shia shrine in Syria. The attack occurred during dismissal of a nearby school. As many as 134 people were killed and 180 were wounded, including women and children.

On February 19, 2018, Boko Haram kidnapped 110 girls from a boarding school in Dapchi, Nigeria. Five reportedly died in transit. The militants released 104 of the students a month later, but kept one who refused to denounce her Christian faith. 

On February 16, 2017, ISIS-Khorasan Province launched a suicide bombing at a popular Sufi shrine in Sehwan, Pakistan. The attack, during a sacred day of prayer, killed 91 devotees and injured at least 300 others.
