On January 1, 2020, the Taliban targeted Afghan security forces in the country’s north, attacking checkpoints in at least three provinces. The wave of assaults killed at least 23 soldiers and police officers, and injured at least eight others.

On February 21, 2016, two bombs ripped through a main street during Sunday morning rush hour in the predominately Shiite neighborhood of al-Zahra in Homs, Syria. The ISIS-claimed attack killed at least 57 people, injured more than 200 others, destroyed 60 surrounding buildings and dozens of cars.

On February 19, 2016, two Boko Haram suicide bombers detonated their explosives at a public market in the Meme area of southwestern Cameroon. The attack left 24 people slain and 112 wounded.

On February 13, 2017, a suicide bomber targeted a public protest in Lahore, killing at least 14 people and wounding 85 others.  Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, a faction of the banned group Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan, claimed responsibility for the attack.
