Fact:
On September 15, 2019, a truck bomb exploded outside of the Al-Rai Hospital in Syria’s Aleppo Governorate, killing 12 civilians and injuring many more. There were no immediate claims of responsibility.
Several days after authorities in the UK and Dubai stopped an alleged plot to ship bombs via FedEx from Yemen to locations in the United States, Arab media outlets by and large reported that the plot was likely the work of AQAP.
Saudi Arabia’s al-Eqtisadiah compiled reports from Western media outlets. The paper cited a Reuters report that pointed the blame on Saudi citizen and chief AQAP bomb maker Ibrahim al-Asiri.
