Afghanistan

  • The Taliban foreign minister, Amir Khan Muttaqi, met with his Syrian counterpart, Asaad al-Shaibani, in Istanbul during the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meeting.
  • The Taliban condemned U.S. attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities.
  • The Taliban are allegedly looking for financial support from Turkey and China after the loss of support from the U.S.
  • U.S. Congressman Bill Huizenga (R-MI), the chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee’s Subcommittee on South and Central Asia, noted that terrorist groups were regrouping in Afghanistan. 

Pakistan 

  • ISIS killed Dr. Siddique Ullah, a leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) in Pishin, Balochistan.
    •  JUI supporters held protests after the assassination.
  • Unidentified gunmen murdered the spokesperson for the Jattak Jirga Council in Mangochar, Balochistan.
  • Unidentified gunmen killed two members of Pakistan’s Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Mastung, Balochistan.
  • Shiite Zainebiyoun militants in Kurram threatened to attack “U.S. military interests if the U.S. attacks Iran.”

  • “Assassination of a leader and a member of two political parties in an operation by the soldiers of the Caliphate in the state of Pakistan.” 

“This week, the soldiers of the Caliphate assassinated a leader in one of the apostate political parties and a member of another political party in an armed attack that targeted them in southwestern Pakistan.” 

  • “The attack targeted the vehicle of the leader.” 

“In detail, by the grace of God, the soldiers of the Caliphate targeted, on Friday (24/Dhu al-Hijjah), a vehicle carrying a leader in the apostate political party called the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, accompanied by a member of the apostate Pakistani Justice Party, while it was traveling in the city of Pishin in the Balochistan region. The attack was carried out with machine guns, and two scholars were killed, praise be to God. Following the attack, the area witnessed protests by supporters of the apostate parties, demanding that the government protect them. One of the leaders of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam party described the killing of their leaders as ‘the worst example of the government’s incompetence,’ as he put it.”

  • June 21: Pro-ISIS post on Telegram stating that ISIS killed Dr. Siddique Ullah, a leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam in Pishin, Balochistan. ISIS claimed credit for the attack the same day. See https://x.com/rahimullahlabib/status/1936244336439837067. 

“Follow-ups. This Pakistani party leader was assassinated by V.D.” [V.D. refers to the term ‘Vitamin Dawla,’ an alternate name for ISIS on some Telegram channels.] 

 

  • June 21: Pro-ISIS post on Telegram stating that JUI supporters held protests after one of their leaders was murdered in Pishin District, Balochistan.  

“Update. Demonstrations by [JUI] party followers and supporters protesting the assassination of one of their leaders.” 

 

 

“Urgent. Gunmen assassinate two members of the counterterrorism force in the Pakistani district of Mastung.” 

 

“Entertainment. A historic meeting between the Turkish and Qatari schools in Istanbul. The foreign ministers of the Taliban and Syria.”

  • June 21: Pro-ISIS post on Telegram stating that Shiite Zainebiyoun militants in Kurram threatened to attack “U.S. military interests if the U.S. attacks Iran.” 

“Follow-ups. A statement by the Pakistani Zainebiyoun Force, affiliated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, threatens to target U.S. military interests if the U.S. attacks Iran. 

“It is worth noting that the Pakistani Kurram tribes had previously disciplined this force, even seeking help from intelligence agencies to reach a truce with the tribes about a year ago. The fighting resulted in the death of a senior Kurram leader, in addition to the deaths of hundreds of their members, forcing their families to flee their Kurram villages.” 

 

  • June 23: Pro-ISIS post on Telegram noting that the Taliban condemned U.S. attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities. 

“Entertainment. The Afghan Taliban condemns the targeting of Iranian nuclear facilities.”

  • June 23: Pro-ISIS post on Telegram claiming that the Taliban are looking for financial support from Turkey and China after the U.S. “halted its support for them [the Taliban] due to their failure to fight terrorism.” 

“Follow-ups. Leaders of the Afghan Taliban are scouring capitals in search of alternative support to the United States, which has halted its support for them due to their failure to fight terrorism. “One of them is in Turkey and the other is in China today.” 

 

  • June 27: Pro-ISIS post on Telegram noting that the Taliban congratulated Iran “on its victory over Israel.” 

“Entertainment. Afghan Taliban spokesman: We congratulate the ‘Islamic Republic of Iran’ on its victory over Israel.”

“Statement. U.S. Congressman Bill Huizenga: Afghanistan has once again become a center of ‘global terrorism.’” 

 

  • June 27: Pro-ISIS post on Telegram stating that unidentified gunmen murdered the spokesperson for the Jattak Jirga Council in Mangochar, Balochistan. 

“Urgent. Gunmen assassinate Ali Hassan, spokesman for the Pakistani Jattak Jirga party, in the town of Mangochar in Kalat District of Balochistan.” 

 

3. ISIS Amaq/Nashir Statements 

•     [Pakistan Province] June 21: ISIS claims to have killed a Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam leader in Pishin, Balochistan, in an armed attack. JUI identified the man killed as Dr. Siddique Ullah. 

“Pakistan Province, by the grace of God Almighty, the soldiers of the Caliphate targeted a leader of the apostate political party (Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam) in the district of Pishin, Balochistan, yesterday with machine guns, resulting in his death, praise be to God.”
